– The MP sells palm oil as a side hustle aside from his full-time job
– Amoah’s story has been shared on social media by a client who encountered him
For his choice of a side hustle, Member of Parliament for Nhiaeso, Stephen Amoah, has come under the spotlight for selling palm oil aside from his full-time job.
Though MPs in Ghana’s political scene engage in other businesses aside from their full-time jobs, MPs usually indulge in ventures associated with prominent people in society.
But, Stephen Amoah prefers to sell palm oil as a side hustle to meet his financial obligations.
Amoah recently approached a social media user, Joseph Oppong-Brenya, to sell his well-branded palm oil.
Sharing his experience in a post, Oppong-Brenya explained how he ended up becoming a customer of the MP.
“While in Kumasi over the weekend, I went to Barnas, a popular eating place in Kumasi for lunch, and I met the Member of Parliament for Nyhiaeso and former MASLOC CEO, Stephen Amoah, popularly known as Sticka.
“After a long chat, he told me, ‘My brother, I’m selling palm oil’. It was like I didn’t hear him well so asked, what do mean? Then he repeated, “I’m selling bottled palm oil so you must buy some.”
“I thought it was a joke, so I requested two bottles. He went to a Nissan hardbody pick-up, very unusual of a Ghanaian sitting MP driving a hard body pick-up, where he had packed the bottled palm oil.
“I bought two bottles from him, I thought he was even coming to eat, no, he was selling his palm oil.”
