– Years after Malcolm X’s death, his family members have not rested in fishing out his real killers
– Though three men had earlier been convicted for his murder of the famous African American nationalist
– However, a letter allegedly written by a late police officer has revealed that some security agencies conspired to have Malcolm X killed
The family members of Malcolm X have released a new letter which claims that the New York Police Department and the FBI were behind the killing of the famous Black activist and civil rights advocate in 1965.
A report by Reuters indicates that the letter which was made public at a news conference on Saturday, February 20, was allegedly written by a deceased police officer named Raymond Wood.
Malcolm X, an African American nationalist, religious leader and powerful orator, was assassinated while preparing to deliver a speech.
Three men had been convicted of the murder.
At the press conference, the deceased police officer’s cousin joined some of Malcolm X’s daughters to publicly unveil the letter.
The deceased police officer claimed in the letter that he was pressured by his supervisors to lure two members of Malcolm X’s security team into committing crimes which led to their arrest just days before the religious leader was killed.
The arrest of Malcolm X’s security detail was part of a conspiracy between the NYPD and FBI to have Malcolm killed, the letter further claimed.
Reacting to the letter, the NYPD said a review of the investigation and prosecution of the alleged killers of Malcolm X is already ongoing.

In an earlier report, Legit.ng highlighted the key reasons why Malcolm X converted to Islam.
Among others, the late courageous black rights advocate was reported to have converted to Islam because he was accepted for who he was by his brothers in Islam.
