The National leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Bola Tinubu, revalidated his membership of the party in Lagos on Saturday, February 6.
The ongoing registration and revalidation exercise which is being carried out across all the states has been faulted by some. One of them being a former governor of Osun state, Bisi Akande.
Akande also decried the continued stay in office of the party’s national caretaker committee headed by Yobe state governor, Mai Mala Buni.
Chatting with men of the press after playing his part in the exercise, Tinubu said he would not fault Akande’s position but will endorse it, Channels TV reports.
“I will not fault Baba Akande’s position; I will not but endorse it.”
According to him, what was going on the party was a matter of addition and subtraction, free entry and free exit.
Okorocha’s son-in-law backs Akande
A chieftain of the APC, Chief Uche Nwosu, earlier backed for the stance of Chief Akande.
Nwosu called on the Buni-led committee to listen to the grievances of the founding members of the party and address same to strengthen loyalty within its fold.
Ex-lawmaker knocks Tinubu
Shehu Sani, a former lawmaker mocked Tinubu for his long-overdue silence on the brewing Fulani herdsmen-farmer crisis in the southwest.
In a tweet on Wednesday, February 3, the former lawmaker said the APC national leader’s continuous hush over the ethnic tension generated by the eviction notice issued to the herders in Oyo and Ondo states is because he does not want to “lose his cap.”
Sani said Tinubu’s silence is a coward attempt by the Jagaban (Tinubu’s pseudonym) to save his “caps and shoes.” He said:
“If the Jagaban opposes eviction, he will lose his shoes; If the Jagaban supports eviction, he will lose his cap. Just wear your thick mask and off your phone our leader.”
