Insecurity: Tears in Anambra as gunmen storm church service, kill 3 members of a family

– Three members of the same family have been killed in Azia, Anambra state

In a tragic incident that has plunged Azia community in Ihiala local government area of Anambra state into tears, suspected gunmen stormed a church and killed three people.

Ken Ekwesianya was murdered alongside his wife and daughter on Thursday night, February 4, police source confirmed.

Speaking on the incident on Friday, February 5, the Anambra police command’s spokesperson, Mohammed Haruna, confirmed the incident, Channels TV reports.

Haruna said the force has heightened efforts to ensure that the culprits are arrested and made to face the full wrath of the law.

The police public relation officer also expressed confidence in justice prevailing, adding that the security operatives are on alert about the criminal activities in the state.

“Investigation is ongoing to unravel the circumstances surrounding the incident and effort is being intensified in order to arrest perpetrators of the dastardly act and bring them to justice.”

Meanwhile, Legit.ng reported that it was an end of the road for Owolabi Oludipe after the notorious Aiye cult gang leader popularly known as Somori was killed by the operatives of the Nigeria Police Force (NPF).

Somori met his waterloo on Sunday, January 31, after security operatives and his men engaged in a gun duel in Odogbolu community of Ogun state.

Shedding light on the incident surrounding the notorious cult leader’s death, Ogun police command spokesperson, Abimbola Oyeyemi, stated that he was killed after the police were alerted by panicking residents.

Also, the fight against insecurity recorded a huge victory as Nasiru Kachalla, a notorious bandit terrorising various communities, was killed in Kaduna forest.
