– Juventus can win trophies this season as long as they have Cristiano Ronaldo, according to Christian Vieri
– The Bianconeri legend claims his former team will always have the advantage with the Portuguese in their squad
– Juventus will face Inter Milan in the Coppa Italia semi-finals as they continue their quest to win a treble this season
Juventus legend Christian Vieri has insisted that the club can win anything as long as they have Cristiano Ronaldo in their squad, Goal.
The former Italy international claims the Bianconeri are 1-0 ahead of the Portuguese striker is in Andrea Pirlo’s starting line-up.
The Old Lady are currently seven points off the pace from AC Milan in Pirlo’s first top managerial appointment.
But Juve are still contending for three titles after safely making it through into the Champions League last 16, the Coppa Italia semi-finals and seven points within reach in Serie A
And Vieri believes his former team should not be ruled out yet if Ronaldo is still in the team.
Vieri was quoted by Goal:
“Listen, Juventus can win anything every year. They have a fantastic side.
“When you have Cristiano Ronaldo with you, you always start 1-0.
“Pirlo has an amazing team. He can win everything this season. Let’s see what happens. Nine years in a row winning the Scudetto, of course, sooner or later you will lose it because motivation-wise, you can’t have that motivation every year.”
Juventus will face Inter Milan in the Coppa Italia semis and Vieri believes Juve can overcome Antonio Conte’s side despite losing to them in the league.
“Inter have a fantastic team this season. [Achraf] Hakimi, [Arturo] Vidal, [Ashley] Young, [Alessandro] Bastoni, they’re all good players. They’re solid, more solid defensively than three to four months ago. Up front they’re fantastic. Anyone can win.
“Against Juve, Inter played fantastically [in Serie A]. Technical wise, physically. Let’s see what happens in the semi-final.”
Meanwhile, Legit.ng had earlier reported that Cristiano Ronaldo has finally become the highest goal-scoring footballer of all-time following his strike against Napoli in Suppercoppa.
Juventus defeated their Serie A rivals by 2-0 to claim bragging rights over the FA Cup winners with the help of their talisman Ronaldo.
Alvaro Morata scored in the fifth minute of extra time to ensure the Bianconeri’s won their first trophy of the season.
