The Lagos government has alerted residents in the state that some dubious persons are now selling fake COVID-19 certificates to travelers.
This was revealed on Monday, December 28, by the commissioner for health, Akin Abayomi, during a press briefing on the situation of the second wave of the virus, PM News reports.
However, Abayomi noted that the government is making decisive moves to track and arrest perpetrators of this crime.
The commissioner said:
“It has come to our attention that a number of people are patronizing individuals that sell fake COVID-19 results.
“We are currently putting in processes to identify both buyers and sellers and we will not hesitate to prosecute either to the full extent of the law.”
